Clinical Animal Behaviour services

With a background in veterinary nursing, animal behaviour & welfare, and a postgraduate qualification in clinical animal behaviour, I provide supportive, evidence-based guidance to help pets—and their caregivers— navigate behavioural challenges and live more comfortable, less stressful lives.

My primary focus is cats and small mammals, which I see for full behaviour consultations & training.
I also support dogs with cooperative care training and veterinary-related anxiety, helping to make necessary care less stressful for everyone involved.

Tileh training

A formal, methodical way of investigating complex behavioural concerns. For example:
• Litterbox issues, marking, and house soiling
• Fearful behaviour and phobias
• Aggression towards humans or other animals
• Noise sensitivity
• Destructive behaviour
• Repetitive behaviour

Additionally, this type of consultation is also ideal for behavioural prevention:
• Kitten consultations
• Multi-pet households
• Pre-acquisition counselling (choosing the right pet & preparing for their arrival)
• New pet introductions

The initial consultation is approximately 2 hours long, done remotely, at home, or in-clinic (by prior arrangement), and it includes a detailed report and plan for you & one forwarded to your veterinarian.

Before scheduling an initial session, I will ask you to complete the pet questionnaire, and your vet to submit a referral form. Ongoing liaising with your vet may also be required.

Follow-up consultations are approximately 1 hour, and they also include an amended report or plan, and progress discussions with your vet.

The package prices include an initial consultation + follow-up(s) arranged within 3 months of the initial appointment.

These sessions will help you address a specific concern and improve your cat’s quality of life in a practical and immediate way.

Rather than a full behaviour consultation, we concentrate on one key issue at a time—offering clear guidance that you can implement straight away.

Environmental management (your home set-up)
We will systematically look at your cat’s environment and identify simple changes that can make a big difference to their comfort and behaviour.

This is particularly useful for house soiling concerns or tension between your cats, or when you suspect something in your cat’s territory may need adjusting.

You’ll be asked to provide a video tour of your home (no need to tidy up—I want to see your cat’s normal, everyday environment!).

• Chronic condition management
Support & guidance to help you and your cat live more comfortably with ongoing medical conditions.

This includes adapting your home and routines for cats with arthritis or cognitive decline, managing daily treatments such as injections for diabetic cats, or coping with chronic kidney disease.

The focus is on making daily care more manageable, low-stress, and sustainable for both of you.

• Preventative care & life-stage support
Support tailored to your cat’s stage of life—whether you’re raising a confident kitten or caring for a senior cat. We focus on long-term health and wellbeing and helping your cat feel safe, comfortable, and able to cope with everyday life.

Please note: These sessions do not replace a consultation with your veterinarian, but can work alongside your vet’s diagnosis and prescribed treatment plan to support day-to-day management at home.

Stress-Free Vet Care!
In clinic, at home, or online – for any species.

Does your dog refuse to enter the clinic?
Does your cat hide once the carrier appears?
Do routine tasks like nail trims, ear drops, or giving medication turn into a battle?

Veterinary visits, handling, and everyday care can be overwhelming because of fear, anxiety, or past trauma, and can show up as struggle, avoidance, or resistance. But it doesn’t have to be this way.

Cooperative care training focuses on teaching your pet to feel safe, have choice, and actively participate in their care. By building trust and confidence, we can transform these experiences into something predictable and manageable—for everyone involved.

Common behavioural challenges include:
• Veterinary visit anxiety & fear
• Sensitivity to handling or restraint
• Difficulty with examinations or routine procedures
• Medication administration issues (e.g. pills, injections, ear/eye drops)
• Grooming-related stress (e.g. brushing, nail trims, groomer visits)
• Travel anxiety (vocalisation, drooling, nausea)

We will work on skills such as:
• Voluntary participation in handling & vet procedures (e.g. exam, blood sampling)
• Cooperative medication administration (oral, topical, injections)
• Grooming skills (coat care, nail trims, toothbrushing)
• Muzzle training
• Carrier and travel confidence
• “Confidence clinics” – positive associations with the practice & staff.

Prices (online/in-person)

Initial consultation (45–60 min) – £90
We will explore your pet’s specific challenges and create a practical, step-by-step training plan tailored to you—no prior training experience needed.

Progress check-in (up to 30 min) – £45
These sessions allow us to build on progress, troubleshoot any difficulties, and adjust your plan as your pet develops new skills.

Packages:
Pack of 3 sessions (1h initial consultation + 2x30min check-ins) – £170
Pack of 6 sessions (1h initial consultation + 5x30min check-ins) – £290

For a more intensive level of support, I offer regular, hands-on training sessions (e.g. once or twice weekly), where we build skills together and make steady progress in-session.
This is helpful if you prefer more guidance, have a busy schedule, or feel less confident practising at home, and would like me to take a more active role in your pet’s training.
Please get in touch to discuss a tailored plan that works for you.

The first few months of your kitten’s life are a unique and time-sensitive opportunity to shape how they experience the world.

This structured course is designed to guide your kitten through key experiences in a safe and positive way—helping them grow into a confident and adaptable adult cat.

Why start early?
Early experiences have a lasting impact. Investing in your kitten’s confidence and coping skills now means introducing them to everyday situations in a gentle and controlled way, preventing fear, stress, and common behavioural and handling issues later in life.

What will your kitten learn:

• Positive handling and preparation for veterinary care
• Travelling in a carrier with confidence
• Introduction to grooming (brushing, dental care, nail trims)
• Calm exposure to different people, equipment, and stimuli
• Harness training, if relevant
• Early guidance on common challenges (e.g. biting, destructive scratching)

How the programme works:
After a detailed assessment during our initial consultation, we formulate an individualised “exercise” plan for you & your kitten.
Later, we can progress and build on your kitten’s skills through structured follow-up sessions.
Depending on your needs, we can focus on preventative skills and/or address any concerns as they arise.

Not all cats are naturally suited to life as indoor pets.
Some cats —often those who have lived part of their lives outdoors or free-roaming— fall somewhere in between . They are neither feral nor fully comfortable as typical companion cats.

These “inbetweener” cats can struggle when placed in a conventional home setting, leading to fears, stress, frustration, or behaviours that are often misunderstood.

With the right approach, however, these cats can thrive.

Drawing on both clinical knowledge and my first-hand experience with community and free-roaming cats in Greece, these sessions focus on understanding your cat’s individual background and adapting their environment and care to better meet their needs.

Rather than trying to change who your cat is, we work with their natural behaviours—creating a lifestyle that feels safe, appropriate, and comfortable for both of you.
